My day job is enterprise software development. I actually value solid internals you can build on, and I'm used to thinking in terms of how you build things. That's something a lot of people underappreciate - and neglecting the foundations of your software usually means serious trouble down the road.
We all have ideas for games, but at the end of the day it's all about sitting down and making the damn things. That's what I'm doing in my spare time now.
